Web of Wire 03:29
Inside this unholy web of wire I can taste the sun Deep in my delta of sound Droning and chanting obscure as they come At the threshold of the temple I saw the candles inside From a distance I though t they were stars Making another world bright Revelations from the East Help me wander away I take the pills everyday: Next time I’ll come back as a girl
2.
How do we know the time passes slow? There’s nothing going on here Changing our clothes every hour like a badly made comedy Please chase me my dear From the front room to the back room we fight like philosophers Please don’t be angry with me Will we be saved by the love of everyone we know? Will we be safe with anyone we know? Close the windows lock all the doors Something dangerous is near Now is the time to be true In bed in the afternoon Sing sweetly my dear If I try to keep it quiet we might make it through I can’t be angry with you Will we be saved by the love of everyone we know? Will we be safe with anyone we know?

It was more of a sober week, not a drinking day More of a place to hide, not somewhere you could stay Don’t let the old folks get you down What colour car is your father’s car? What kind of blue? If you could be anything you wanted What would you do? Everyone’s happy, no-one’s scared The evil old ones in their lair Only rarely come up for air It was more of a Jesus week than a devil day More of a place to hide than somewhere you could stay Everyone smiled, no one frowned Picked each other up when they went down Left the silver in the ground Don’t let the old folks get you down
4.
Like a cradle rocked in time All around the air is motionless The glass tipped swift into the bowl And the alcohol in all its recipe Poured from one to the other Without letting one drop disturb the atmosphere
5.
Hypnotist 04:57
In the waiting night The fridge clicks and the TV sighs Lamps bend their heads Prisoners in paradise I want to get up, switch on the bedroom light Jump off the balcony like I can re-invent flight First thing in the day It’s easier to stay Keep out of the way I’m learning how to hypnotise myself Deep in the night The kickstart of a motorbike Hungry and mean travelling with dynamite A print-out of dreams on double glazed tapestries The escape of the thief stealing love in digital time First thing in the day It’s easier to stay Keep out of the way I’m learning how to hypnotise myself I learned to hypnotise myself
6.
Grace of God 03:07
Shouldn’t I have something to cling on to? The certainty of heaven, just like you do I don’t believe in God and when I die I will not be rising into your future sky Here comes baby Jesus he loves you so Please put on your seatbelt, wherever you go I don’t believe in God and when I die Nothing much will happen
7.
We dance in silver castles Spinning the tops of our heads Like plate magicians on a stage Each with an eye on the better option Maybe the stranger at the bar An eye, a flex of muscle Our need to not go home together Ending with the light in the quiet fanfare of a kiss We’re free from angry interruptions In love with absent courtesans But doomed, doomed to go bed And lie there side by side like mediaeval kings and queens That’s how it seemed to me That’s all we could ever be Just my old fantasy coming back to me On days when living is a challenge No-one’s impossible]to mis I never got to tell you that I loved you in the quiet fanfare of a kiss That’s how it seemed to me That’s all we could ever be Just my old fantasy coming back to me

New Scissors 03:20
In the deep dark bars of Amsterdam I plot revenge and I make my plan I want my share of contraband with a list of the residents in my hand In my flappy jeans and leather coat I’ll sail on down in my brother’s boat Follow up the telegram my mother wrote and throw their bodies in the most New scissors cut me away Old comrades now must fade and die The bubbles burst like broken dreams across the sky Break all the windows and smash the jars Bring out the Bentley and the stolen cars I’m not too sure where the papers are but t the rule of law is quite bizarre I want the bricks, the sticks and the stones Their grass, their coffee and their broken bones Throw the Old Girl in the dirt I don’t care who gets hurt When scissors cut me away Old comrades now must fade and die The bubbles burst like broken dreams across the sky

Don’t fall down We have so far to go Throw the bottles out to roll in the snow Don’t fall down The day is still so long Just you and me How could it go wrong? We’ll still get up to mischief So stay up on your feet Be careful of the edges and the monsters in the street Don’t fall down It’s hard to keep steady If we separate then I’ll be ready Two strong arms and a tender heart So kiss me hello like you did at the start We’ll still get up to mischief I we can stay up on our feet Be careful of the edges and the monsters in the street We’ll still be optimistic And you’ll agree with me There’s nothing so fantastic as the time that’s yet to be

about

Described as a "sharp left turn" for these patient, questing musicians, Vibrations of the Sun is am eponymous debut of existentialist mystery.
Recorded and mixed in straightened circumstances with lyrics composed in a year-long entombment in 2 rooms, VOTS created this music without once meeting face to face.

Fred and I have been waiting for this day for some time. The day the world can hear our greatest work, made in the hardest of times.
Making this music has kept us both going for the last 2 years we hope it can do a little of the same for you.
Thank you x
